About me

Hello, I’m Ellie

I’m an integrative counsellor based in Canterbury. My passion is supporting people to feel heard, understood and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

I believe counselling should be a collaborative and compassionate process. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is central to this, so that you feel truly heard, supported and accepted. Because every person’s story is unique, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor them to your individual needs. Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace, in a safe and supportive space.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I adhere to their professional and ethical standards.

I have experience supporting adults with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, loss and life transitions.

What I value most in my work is seeing clients begin to reconnect with themselves — discovering new strengths, perspectives and ways of coping.

Counselling Experience

Alongside my private practice, I provide counselling at Canterbury Community Counselling Service and Pilgrims Hospice.

These roles give me the privilege of supporting people through a wide range of life experiences, from grief and loss to change, uncertainty, and emotional distress.

This work continually deepens the compassion, understanding, and perspective I bring to my private practice.

Previous Career

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a Primary School Teacher. During the pandemic, I supported vulnerable secondary-aged students with English, Maths, and their social and emotional wellbeing.

These experiences gave me a deeper understanding of young people and a strong commitment to offering a safe, supportive space where every person feels heard and valued.

If you’d like to know more about how I work, please feel free to get in touch. I’d be glad to answer any questions and help you decide whether counselling with me feels right for you.
